Neatherd Community High School, successful and popular, is at the heart of the community of Dereham and its surrounding villages. We have a tradition of high standards of achievement with a commitment to excellence in learning. We provide a wide range of learning activities both within and beyond school to enrich the experience of every child.
We believe that every child is an individual and are determined to see every child succeed. There are strong support and tracking systems in place to support every child's learning journey in our school. The transition from primary school is carefully managed with strong support to make this move as seamless as possible.
We set high targets and expect the best from all students and staff who work with them. Visitors to the school always comment on the calm, orderly atmosphere where there is a real focus on learning. Our students show care for each other and are given much responsibility in the school - the students are a real strength of the school and are rightly at the centre of everything we do to ensure high standards.
We have strong links with our partner primary schools in the Dereham area, where we support Languages teaching as part of our Specialist College outreach programme. We are part of the Dereham, Easton and Litcham Federation, providing opportunities for 14-19 education in collaboration with other institutions. The Dereham Sixth Form College is a strong partnership between our school and Northgate High School and the Federation also includes Litcham High School, Fred Nicholson Special School and Easton College with access to courses with other providers such as City College in Norwich.
